Comments:
R4108 is a former U.S. Coast Guard UTB retrofitted for scientific research.  It is primarily used to support Harmful Algal Bloom research on western Lake Erie.  In addition to weekly water and optics sampling, R4108 deploys a system of buoys and other moorings including the Environmental Sample Processor to monitor conditions in the western basin of Lake Erie.
